Currently, this is a grassroots project with the highest ambitions to grow. Our support and help are being provided by help from friends and families, and we thank them all for their assistance.
We lost a 16-year-old son and a loved family member to suicide. We were lost in a world we did not know how to navigate. Everyone loved our son, and we put together a place to honor his memory. We wanted something special to be as big as his heart was. We inadvertently built a park with many trails, reflecting benches, chairs, and private areas.
Along the way, we realized that we were not alone in this. So many people have been affected by having lost a loved one to suicide. We learned the hard way that there truly is not much that can be done to heal. Unfortunately, that is a long process, and you must navigate it alone for the most significant part.
During this reflection and process that we went through, we realized that it helped us have a “neutral” place to visit, talk out loud, scream, cry, and shout at the world. We have put aside 40 acres of an intensely private area where nature can absorb the pain and loss in a way that nothing else can. No one around can hear the tears, and you can have a moment to come to terms with your feelings.
The park is someplace to visit, honor, grieve, and love your lost person.
We have many plans for this park. We are very ambitious and determined. While this is part of our healing process, this is also part of our personal growth. We want to share this with others who have found themselves in a similar situation and are unsure how to move forward.
Currently, we are only able to schedule visits on a one on one basis
